3 Easy Spring Appetisers Recipes

As we emerge from the lockdowns one of the great things that we can look forward to is hosting parties!  But, party planning can be difficult, especially if you're working with limited time. That's why we've compiled some of the easiest appetizers for you to make. These appetisers are perfect because they can be made ahead of time and don't take too long to prepare. They are also great if you just want to have the quick mid-afternoon snack. Try one of the recipes listed in the blog post.

Tomato Goat Cheese Spread

Tomato and Goat cheese is always a great combination because it provides a mix of flavours that you normally do not encounter in every day eating.

  • 1 Jar of Sun-dried tomatoes
  • 250 grams of Goats Cheese (preferably fresh)
  • 2 Garlic Cloves (Minced)
  • Parsley (optional)

1. Mince the garlic cloves

2. Drain the tomatoes (you can keep 4 tablespoons of oil for the next step)

3, Heat up a small skillet (we recommend cast iron) over medium-high heat

4. Add the oil and garlic for 1 minute stirring

5. Add the tomatoes and cook for 3 minutes stirring (ensure that the garlic does not become darker than golden)

6. Place the Goat's cheese on a plate and pour the tomato mixture on top

7. Add parsley (optional)

8. Enjoy! (we recommend either artisanal bread or plain crackers to accentuate the taste)

European Beer Cheese Spread

An interesting combination of beer (and for the best results it is best to use either German or Belgian beers) and cheese to create a spread.

  • 400 grams mature cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

  1. Cut the cheese into 1cm cubes
  2. Place cheese in a food processor; pulse until finely chopped (roughly 1 min)
  3. Add Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper.
  4. Over the course of 2 mins slowly add the beer while continuing to process the mixture
  5. This recipe is best enjoyed with crackers, carrots or celery.
